Apex Energetics StressZyme Review
Apex Energetics StressZyme takes a unique approach to stress-relief supplement formulation, through the use of a proprietary blend of digestive enzymes, and an additional herbal mix. They use a few key minerals plus 5-HTP, which the body can convert into serotonin to help elevate mood and promote positive well-being. The blend also contains a fungal extract, which they claim to be quite effective for boosting immune health.
This product could have made it to the top of our list if not for the few missing elements like B-vitamins, multiple mineral blends, and lack of an added bioavailability booster such as piperine. Despite these shortcomings, this product is very well formulated and seemingly quite beneficial. Read on to see what we found.
Is Apex Energetics StressZyme Effective?
This product looks to be very effective, but unfortunately not as optimized to its fullest extent like our #1 pick. Let’s start with what’s great about the product. The digestive enzyme blend most likely works on stress through the attempt to increase serotonin levels, which digestive enzymes can positively affect when used in the correct amounts and potency. Serotonin can regulate and improve mood, which in turn produces a calming effect for the body. The blend also uses the three key enzymes, amylase, protease, and lipase, which are the basic enzymes needed in a proprietary enzyme blend. The use of a few minerals including magnesium, albeit not in its most bioavailable form, are also positive factors in this product.
The glaring lack of all but one adaptogenic ingredient, however, is disappointing. The use of jujube extract is a natural alternative to sleep enhancers, but the unfortunate truth is that this ingredient is surrounded by more myth than fact. Many scientific studies suggest that there is actually little to no evidence of its effectiveness, despite many claims by practitioners of older, traditional style medicines about its near-magical effects on sleep.
While we applaud Apex Energetics for their courage in trying to find a different way of creating a stress-relief formula, they missed out on the most basic tenet of stress supplements – adding in a blend of B vitamins. Without the use of these vitamins to stabilize mood and hormones, the digestive enzymes can only do so much to truly provide a sense of calm and relief. The fungal extract also helps with the immunity boosting, but the addition of vitamins and more minerals would have been a much more optimal choice.
The inclusion of bioavailability boosters, such as BioPerine, would have been beneficial to this formula. These boosters allow for more complete absorption of the nutrients, and allow them to start taking effect at a quicker rate. While we do think that this product is quite top-notch and innovative, it just doesn’t hit the exact right formulaic points that could drive it up to the top of this list.
Is Apex Energetics StressZyme Safe?
While looking into this product, we found no indication that it contains any unsafe ingredients. As far as we know, there are no reported side effects, and it seems to us that the ingredients are all-natural and safe for use. Of course, if you suffer from any extenuating medical conditions, we recommend speaking to your doctor before starting to use any supplement.
Summary
Apex Energetics StressZyme is a great product, which almost made it to the top of our list. However, it falls short of the #1 choice because of the inconsistencies in the ingredients, and the fact that the formula has some major flaws in it. Although they tried a different style of stress-relief, we recognize that the overall effect would not be as potent nor as optimal as a more well-rounded product.
We were disappointed to see that there was no customer satisfaction guarantee, and the return policy is not great. There is a restocking fee, as well as very specific conditions for returning products and getting refunds. The lack of customer reviews is also a problem as potential consumers usually look to the experiences of others in order to make decisions about their purchases.
The lack of the basic ingredients that every stress-relief product needs in order to work properly is our main issue with this supplement. If there are no B vitamins, and a very low amount of adaptogenic herbs, the benefits obtained from this product are going to be minimal to none. If only they thought to add in these ingredients in addition to the digestive enzymes, the formula would have been a lot better, and more effective.
